Translation Memory Maintenance
Translation memories are text segment databases built by humans. They are a collection of all previous translated sentences or segments for a client or subject. They can be owned by one translator or shared at various levels. They are the parent component of some machine translation tools. Their level of reliability and accuracy varies and can be evaluated. The translation memory content can be reworked in order to improve consistency or correct errors in large databases before the next translation project is begun.
